Job Description

DataBridge Analytics is expanding its database management division. We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimise database systems for our enterprise clients in the banking, telecom, and government sectors. You will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of mission-critical databases. This includes database design, implementation, monitoring, and disaster recovery planning. This role demands deep expertise in relational database technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure during critical outage situations.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
Monitor database performance and tune queries for optimal efficiency
Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
Manage database security including user access controls and encryption
Plan and execute database migrations and version upgrades
Troubleshoot database issues and provide 24/7 on-call support rotation
Develop and maintain database documentation including ERDs and runbooks
Advise development teams on database design best practices and query optimisation

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
Expert-level knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL administration
Experience with Oracle Database 12c/19c including RAC and Data Guard
Strong understanding of database security principles and compliance requirements
Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, or Google Cloud SQL)
Proficiency in Linux server administration and shell scripting
Experience with database monitoring tools (Percona, pgAdmin, OEM)
Oracle or MySQL professional certification is highly desirable
